ABOUT ME...

I am currently studying for a Master's in Public Health, and am due to graduate in 2024. My background is in Adult Nursing, having qualified in 2019. Initially, I worked in Intensive Care, before moving into experimental medicine as a Clinical Research Nurse specialising in Hepatology. I stepped away from nursing in 2022 to explore new areas of healthcare.

Alongside studying, I work with the CQC as an Expert by Experience for mental health and autism services. I also sit on the board of trustees for my local Healthwatch, am part of a Campaign Leaders programme with Youth Stop AIDS, volunteer at a local mental health charity, and do some occassional peer reviewing with RCNi. I like to keep myself busy, but sometimes work has to take a back-seat as I also live with physical and mental disabiltiies and mental illness- namely, type 1 diabetes, autism, ADHD and complex PTSD.

All information comes from a combination of my own experience, local and national guidelines, podcasts, textbooks and journals- all content included in blog posts is correct to the best of my knowledge and referenced as fully as possible. Please be aware that information may go out of date, and should not replace medical advice or be used in place of local policy and guidelines. All views or opinions expressed are my own, and not those of my employer or colleagues. All content is my own, unless otherwise stated.

I'm on twitter and instagram at @christienursing and am always open for suggestions for topics and content!
